The UAE, in cooperation with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, has continued its humanitarian airdrop operations over isolated areas of the Gaza Strip as part of the 'Birds of Goodness" initiative, conducting its 55th airdrop today, marking the second consecutive day of airborne aid deliveries. These efforts fall under the umbrella of 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3', reaffirming the UAE's steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and alleviating their humanitarian suffering, especially in areas inaccessible by land due to the ongoing security situation. Since the launch of the 'Birds of Goodness' initiative, approximately 3,750 tonnes of vital humanitarian aid have been airdropped. These include essential food items and critical relief supplies designed to meet the urgent needs of families affected by the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza. This operation is part of the UAE's broader, sustained humanitarian response to the deteriorating conditions in the Strip. The UAE reaffirmed its ongoing coordination with regional and international partners to ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches those in need in the Strip through all available channels, air, land, and sea. Video: UAE aid trucks enter Gaza day after air drop resumes amid deadly starvation
A convoy of Emirati humanitarian aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip today through the Rafah border crossing, as part of the UAE's ongoing efforts to support and provide relief to the Palestinian people under the 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3' humanitarian mission. This comes a day after the Emirates resumed its 'Birds of Goodness' airdrop missions along with Jordan, with the planes dropping 25 tonnes of humanitarian aid over the Gaza Strip. The convoy that entered on July 28 consisted of 38 trucks, including 18 loaded with food supplies, medical aid, and infant formula, and 20 trucks carrying pipes, tanks, and equipment to support the operation of a new water pipeline. This pipeline will stretch approximately 7km, connecting the UAE-established desalination plant in Egypt to the displacement zones between the Palestinian cities of Rafah and Khan Younis, with a production capacity of 2 million gallons per day. An earlier convoy of 25 trucks had entered yesterday, carrying water pipes and essential equipment for the pipeline. This brings the total number of trucks transporting materials for the water infrastructure project to 45, with all necessary components now delivered and preparations underway for the project's implementation. On Saturday, July 26, UAE's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan confirmed the Emirates would immediately resume airdrop operations to Gaza as part of its ongoing humanitarian mission. In a statement posted, the minister said the humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached a critical and unprecedented level, underscoring the urgent need for sustained international aid efforts. The UAE has also affirmed its support for the Palestinian people and stated that it will remain a humanitarian priority, and it will continue to coordinate with regional and international partners to ensure that aid reaches the areas most in need by all means — land, sea, and air. The UAE's aid has accounted for more than 44 per cent of the total international aid reaching the Gaza Strip. The airdrop initiative is to support civilians in isolated areas of the Strip that are inaccessible by land. The total amount of food and relief supplies dropped over the Gaza Strip since the launch of the 'Birds of Goodness' initiative, using 193 aircraft, amounts to approximately 3,725 tons. These supplies included basic food supplies and vital supplies to meet the needs of families affected by the difficult and catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Strip.

UAE to resume airdrops to Gaza immediately as aid routes open up
The UAE is to resume air drops to Gaza to help the most vulnerable people after restrictions on aid routes into the enclave were lifted. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, said the UAE was responding to a humanitarian situation that had reached a critical and unprecedented level. Since Israel cut off supplies to the territory in March, starvation has claimed the lives of more than 100 people, the Gaza Health Ministry said. On social media, Sheikh Abdullah said the UAE would lead relief efforts alongside Jordan and the UK, that has also been permitted to resume air drops into Gaza. 'Our commitment to alleviating suffering and providing support is resolute and unwavering,' he said. 'The humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached a critical and unprecedented level. The United Arab Emirates remains at the forefront of efforts to deliver life-saving assistance to the Palestinian people. 'We will ensure essential aid reaches those most in need, whether through land, air or sea. "Air drops are resuming once more, immediately.' Up until last year, the UAE dropped thousands of tonnes of humanitarian aid, food and relief supplies into Gaza as part of the country's Birds of Goodness operation. According to the Co-ordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, the life-saving airdrops will be delivered in partnership with the Israeli military. Gaza's 2.1 million inhabitants have been left starving with severe restrictions on humanitarian aid and commercial deliveries. UN nutrition screenings of 15,000 children in Gaza city in July assessed more than 16 per cent of the population as being acutely malnourished, above the 15 per cent threshold the UN uses for famine declarations. It is a rapidly deteriorating situation, with just 4 per cent considered acutely malnourished in February. A total blockade on humanitarian aid has been in place since March 2 after ceasefire talks collapsed. Meanwhile, the Israeli army said it carried out an airdrop of humanitarian aid 'in accordance with the directives of the political echelon'. An aid ship left the UAE from Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi to deliver 7,166 tonnes of supplies for Gaza this month under Operation Gallant Knight 3. The Khalifa will deliver 4,372 tonnes of food, 1,433 tonnes of shelter materials, 860 tonnes of medical supplies and 501 tonnes of health supplies to Al Arish Port in Egypt. Since the humanitarian crisis emerged in Gaza, the UAE has sent 77,266 tonnes of aid supplies to help those most in need.
